Am I right in saying that you just told us that you steal thousands of songs and yet you're harping on us for wanting a copy of Maybellene without having to repurchase the entire cd which we already bought? Are you saying it's fine to steal... as long as you don't really care for the band that much? I'm sorry pally, but your arguement is complete bullshit.

He's giving an example of how he rationalizes downloading songs for free, even though it isn't right. And the argument is not complete bullshit...We are stealing from the very thing that brings us together on this board. What you're doing is rationalizing your theft of the song. If you do not purchase the song yourself, but obtain it through a free download someone has posted illegally, your are, in effect, stealing.Originally posted by Love_Pain:

Yea I have downloaded 1000's of songs, but I have always rationalized it away. Example, The band/singer is long dead, it's some mega group that makes millions, it's only one song and the rest suck and the excuses go on. Well as far as I can tell Social D doesn't fall under any of these rationalizations, so what do I say now?
Agreed, they do unfortunately have to deal with iTunes power and keep them happy too. Same thing happens with bands on larger labels, having to have different versions available only at Target etc.
I think the problem is that most bonus tracks are leftovers that aren't that great, but Mabellene is a really good cover! I think it's good enough to be a summer radio single. Definately good enough to be a main track on the album.
